United Nations Imposes New Sanctions on Iran
The United Nations Security Council March 24 unanimously voted to increase sanctions on Iran for its failure to suspend its uranium enrichment activities. Acting U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Alejandro Wolff says the unanimous passage of the resolution "sends a clear and unambiguous message to Iran: The regime's continued pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability, in violation of its treaty obligations as a member state of the United Nations, will only further isolate Iran and make it less, not more, secure.
